Censorship at YouTube?

Is YouTube censoring atheistic/anti-religion materials? Apparently, it deleted the account of a popular atheist Nick Gisburne when he uploaded a video targeting not Christianity but the religion of peace: Islam. The original video was allegedly deleted by the site after being tagged by other users as having “inappropriate content”. Here is the same video uploaded by another user.

Pacman on Elections

Pacman says he will definitely run in May. Read the article here, if you are in any bit of interest.

So, can you honestly tell me, Pacquiao can and will be able to fit in?

REPLY TO RICHARD DAWKINS STATEMENT IN THE ROOT OF EVIL

Richard Dawkins statement in the Root of Evil “…there would be murderers all around the world who want to kill you and me and themselves because they are motivated by what they think is the highest ideal ….. the suicide bomber believes that in killing for his god he will be fast tracked to special martyrs’ heaven.”

This chilling exaggerated scenario is probably designed to frighten the religious towards atheism but when considered closely is revealed as being very shallow. It has little to offer in the pursuit of enlightenment and rational scientific thinking. Continue reading

Rule Of Law?

In accepting his nomination to become the 22nd chief justice of the Supreme Court, Reynato Puno had this to say:

“With this acceptance, I pledge to do what is expected of me: to espouse no ideology but constitutionalism; to uphold no theology but the rule of law”

Meanwhile the law is being raped by, who else, our honorable lawmakers, to suit their insatiable greed. This is one of the times I dearly wish there really is a hell. But these devils may find it too familiarly cozy to matter.

What You Can Do Today

I was giving somebody some tips of what he could do just in case he’s in a totally lost and some Christian, appeared and said that this is a better tip than what I had given.

Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own. (Matthew 6:34)

I honestly don’t think it’s better to wait for God to respond to your prayers than you doing something about it. It’s just some lame excuse not to do anything. When you are at lost, isn’t it better to find a way than just wait for what will happen the following day? At least, in the end of the day, even if what you did didn’t help much, at least you did something and you wont regret that you did it too because you know you worked hard to do it and at one point, you learned something out of it. Like for example you are in a low financial situation, isn’t it better to look for side jobs around town or look for something where you can earn money to support yourself rather than pray and kneel all day in front of the altar asking God for financial aid? It’s as if God would come down from heaven and give you money. Nothing will happen if you would just sit there and watch at the sky wait for for a dove to deliver your monthly allowance from God or wait for God to burn the plant standing beside you just to respond to your petty problems on which, you yourself can resolve. You’ll just trouble yourself more by doing it, not to mention fooling yourself too. I’m not telling people to stop believing in God. I’m telling people to stop relying everything to God when you can find ways to do it yourself.

As Tony would always say, nasa tao ang gawa, hindi na kailangan ang awa.

Blessing

Blessing – the type that is supposedly dispensed by a “god” – is a word that doesn’t make much sense to me. There is a chain letter that has been making the rounds in the internet ever since the forward button was invented and where the following line appears:

If you woke up this morning with more health than illness…you are more blessed than the million who will not survive this week.

What kind of twisted reasoning could justify your health as being “more blessed than the million who will not survive”? I thought we are told time and again that blessings are supposed to be coming from a benevolent, all-powerful and just being called god? Why would a god choose to bless one and not bless the million others? Isn’t this an example of sheer self-centered-ness? And if we consider for a moment that this is contrary to their belief that there is a paradise waiting for us in the after-life, shouldn’t we really say that the millions who will die of illness are more blessed for entering paradise sooner?

If you have never experienced the danger of battle, the loneliness of imprisonment, the agony of torture, or the pangs of starvation …you are better off than 500 million people in the world.

500 million starving or tortured or a war refugee because god was busy giving blessing to you? This is hard sell. You are indeed special, sucker! What would you tell the 500 starving people, then? That they are less worthy of god’s blessing that their role in the Great Plan is to starve to death?

If you have food in the refrigerator, clothes on your back, a roof overhead and a place to sleep…you are richer than 70% of this world.

If that is a blessing then whatever happened to the Christian teaching about the poor being blessed for they will inherit the earth? Never mind having the refrigerator, dude. It’s good that the original author stay anonymous. It would just make him look blessed by his god with plenty of common-sense-less-ness.
