I received this enterprising version of the Nigerian Scam a few days ago. If there’s a market, there’s a product. This one recognizes the assumption that by using religion, one can assume an air of superior morality, and presumably, sound more credible. Morality through religion is a fallacy perpetrated by the religionists.

May Allah the most grateful and the most merciful be with you, I write this letter with most concern to our Muslim values and the teachings of Prophet Mohammed (May peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) to uplift and defend our religion at all times. I am Hajia Kudirat Kargo the wife of Dr Abdul Kargo who was the patron of Muslim Association of Britain (MAB) till he became ill in 1994; he died of cancer in 13th Feb 2005. Until his death we are a devoted Muslim family with the fear of Allah in every thing we do knowing that our reward is not on earth but with Allah. Our marriage was not blessed with any child despite our 30 years of marriage. I have only my husband’s brothers who cowardly became Christian converts because of the pressure on Muslims after July 2005 bombings in U.K.

They have been brain washed to abandon Muslim faith and the teaching of Islam. I have been battling with the same cancer that killed my husband for all these years. Recently my doctor told me that I have to be strong in spirit, I knew probably I am approaching my end, but I am happy that I have lived an exemplary life worthy of emulation, even if I die today I know I will be with Allah. My only worry is the money (Fifteen Million, five Hundred Thousand Dollars) my husband deposited in a Bank Vault before his death. I have been deliberating over this issue within my self on what will happen on event of my death or if I become incapacitated as i am ill and hospitalised now.

“Will I disclose this information to my husband’s brothers who are now Christian Converts”? NO!! After much deliberation I came to the final decision to use this money for the propagating of Islam and I have chosen you for this course . I want you to use this money for the building of Islamic schools, Mosques and helping of Muslim widows and children. Helping those who have no body to fed for them and pursuing the course of Islam in your entire region. Please you should not divert this money from the purpose it is meant for. I would want you to signify your interest for this course so that I will give you all details and documents that will enable you claim the fund from the Bank . You shall act on my behalf as the general overseer and the next of kin to the fund. Meanwhile i am now in Burkina Faso where my late husband owns a mansion and also where the Bank is situated.

You must respond urgently to this mail so as to make alternative arrangement, would you be capable to handle the course of Allah. Please do contact me back immediately as i am no longer strong and i will hand over all the process to my account manager in the Bank who will direct you on how and what to do in order to have this fund in your possession as I am always with my husband brothers and I wouldn’t want them to know anything about this arrangement please.

Is YouTube censoring atheistic/anti-religion materials? Apparently, it deleted the account of a popular atheist Nick Gisburne when he uploaded a video targeting not Christianity but the religion of peace: Islam. The original video was allegedly deleted by the site after being tagged by other users as having “inappropriate content”. Here is the same video uploaded by another user.

Richard Dawkins statement in the Root of Evil “…there would be murderers all around the world who want to kill you and me and themselves because they are motivated by what they think is the highest ideal ….. the suicide bomber believes that in killing for his god he will be fast tracked to special martyrs’ heaven.”

This chilling exaggerated scenario is probably designed to frighten the religious towards atheism but when considered closely is revealed as being very shallow. It has little to offer in the pursuit of enlightenment and rational scientific thinking. Continue Reading »

The Pope quoted Byzantine Emperor, Manuel II Paleologos, back in the 14th century as saying “Show me just what Muhammad brought that was new and there you will find thing only evil and inhuman, such as his command to spread by the sword the faith he preached.” The place that this statement was made was amazingly insensitive because this place in Germany is where there are thousands of Moslem “Guest Workers” who have been subject to ill treatment by local Fascist thugs. The Pope therefore will have fueled this racism.

Was this uttered as a slip of the tongue? Hardly in fact the Pope has form on this because just a few months before he was elected, he spoke out against Muslim Turkey joining the E.U. because he argued “Christian Europe must be defended.” The Popes credentials as anti Islam must now be well established within the Moslems world irrespective of any apologies he may make.

If the Pope really wanted dialogue with Islam leaders as he professes, he could have balanced his remarks with mention of one of his predecessors, Urban II who first summoned a Christian Jihad against Islam. He could have also drawn attention to the born-again Christians who have been at the forefront of support for the invasion of Iraq, the invasion and occupation of Palestinian land by Israel, the threat of the use of nuclear weapons against Iran and the whole “Reorganization” of the Middle East in which many thousand of Muslims have lost their lives.

If the Pope had bothered to read the bible, which it seems the Roman Catholic Church rarely recommends, he would be cognizant of the passage written there to the effect; “Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye?”

As far as my opinion goes I quote Shakespeare’s “A Plague on both Their Houses” but the hypocrisy and double standards shown in the Pope’s words make me want to vomit!

Today is the fifth anniversary of the terrorist attack in New York. Five years ago today, I turned on the TV for the bi-lingual news braodcast and the first image that I saw was the live footage of the first tower of the World Trade Center burning. Still couldn’t make up what it was all about, I pressed the record button on my VHS recorder, knowing that it’s an event of significance. Not long after, a second jetliner struck the second tower. I almost cried watching them burn and crumble as by this time I was already so angry at the people who could have done it. There are the usual suspects. It could not have been an accident. This is one reason why faith, specially the fanatical type, should be re-examined for its relevance in this rapidly shrinking world where we are neighbors to people of diverse cultural background. Tolerance should be a word the believers should keep to heart. It’s the word that is last on the minds of these religious fanatics. The people who perpetrated this crime seemed to have been peaceful citizens of their communities until that time, except that in their mind, they were blinded by their faith in a phantom god. This is what happens when we blindly believe all things taught us, specially by people with political agenda, with promises of paradise and threats of hell, our belief can lead us to some unimaginable deeds.

Why does Islamofascism attract the Left? This has puzzled me for some time. Leftists/Marxists are supposed to be secular-minded, yet they have become the most vociferous defenders of the most virulent, reactionary, superstitious ideology known to man which is Islamofascism. Notice how leftist websites routinely praise Palestinian suicide bombers as “freedom fighters”. Notice how they consistently side with Islamists in any conflict the latter is embroiled in with Israel or the US. Leftist islamophilia is a mystery wrapped in an enigma. Or it may just be sheer opportunism masquerading as concern for the underdog.

In the Philippines, leftist organizations and pseudo-intellectuals like Walden Bello and Randy David predictably ally themselves with the Bangsamoro movement at the expense of non-Muslim Filipinos. These Filipino leftists argue that Mindanao is Bangsamoro homeland that was snatched by Christian settlers from the north (how similar a refrain this is to the Jewish settlers-grabbed-Palestinian lands tune!). They advocate the return of these lands to their “rightful owners”. Funny thing is, many of these leftist pseudo-intellectuals live in Manila where they are shielded from the armed turmoil in far-away Mindanao. They don’t own property in the south. They don’t suffer from the kidnapping, pillaging and banditry; it is the non-Muslim Filipinos in Mindanao who have to deal with these threats on a daily basis. Continue Reading »

So, the news is out.

Abdur Rahman has been released, under a deal brokered by the United Nations and the Italian government with the local authorities.

While the story itself turned out to be something of a saving grace for the United Nations, the Afghanistan MPs, however, didn’t seem too particularly pleased. They insisted that the apostate be dealt with a death penalty for this “unspeakable crime”. Continue Reading »

Every so often, especially in the past few months, we read about American fundamentalists decrying the secularization of their governments.

From signing bills against gay marriages, to the signing of an anti-abortion bill in Southern Dakota, it seems that our good ole “brothers in Christ” are slowly and surely driving their beloved superpower nation into the Stone Ages.

Now, if a theocracy is what these morons are looking for, they need to look no further than Afghanistan, where Islamic law is a standard legislative code for every citizen.

An Afghan man, Abdur Rahman, has a death sentence hanging over his head for……..hold your breath, ladies and gentlemen……… converting from his original religion, Islam, to Christianity.

The overreaction of Muslims all over about the cartoons published by a Danish newspaper depicting the prophet Mohammed with a bomb in his turban shows how hypocritical people of faith can be by adopting a double-standard when it comes to their own religion. The newspaper that published the cartoons itself is guilty of hyprocrisy as it allegedly refused to publish a similar satirical comics of Jesus earlier in 2003.
In a welcome news today, Iran’s former president Khatami said a new Islam is ripe to embrace freedom, progress and democracy. But until it happens and until they embrace the right to free speech as it’s understood and enjoyed by freedom loving peoples, expect to see more outrage and rioting each time the sacred cow that is their religion comes under “attack” by the “Western” value of free speech.
