WONDERS OF THEOCRACY: AFGHAN MAN CHARGED WITH DEATH PENALTY FOR CONVERTING TO CHRISTIANITY

Posted by beast_686 on Mar 24th, 2006

Every so often, especially in the past few months, we read about American fundamentalists decrying the secularization of their governments.

From signing bills against gay marriages, to the signing of an anti-abortion bill in Southern Dakota, it seems that our good ole “brothers in Christ” are slowly and surely driving their beloved superpower nation into the Stone Ages.

Now, if a theocracy is what these morons are looking for, they need to look no further than Afghanistan, where Islamic law is a standard legislative code for every citizen.

(Abdur Rahman: Death sentence for converting to Christianity)

An Afghan man, Abdur Rahman, has a death sentence hanging over his head for……..hold your breath, ladies and gentlemen……… converting from his original religion, Islam, to Christianity.

Yes, ladies and gentlemen. Converting to Christianity is such a grievous crime that death in the gallows would be seem as “fitting” for the infidelic act!

And guess what President George Bush, he of the incessant, ridiculous war rhetoric, and his inept Administration has to say?

US REACTION: BUNCH OF PANSIES IN DISGUISE

From Washington Post, 23 March 2016:

1. Bush, on a visit to Wheeling, W.Va., said yesterday he was “deeply troubled” to learn of Rahman’s possible prosecution. “That’s not the universal application of the values that I talked about” while in Kabul, he said. He stopped short of calling for the case against Rahman to be dropped but said he would work with Karzai’s government “to make sure that people are protected in their capacity to worship.”

2. On Tuesday, a State Department spokesman urged the Afghan government to “conduct any legal proceedings in a transparent and fair manner.” R. Nicholas Burns, the undersecretary of state for political affairs, said that the Afghan constitution “affords freedom of religion to all Afghans” and that the U.S. government hoped for a “satisfactory result” of the case.

Oh yes, they are pretty much side-stepping the whole issue together.

By careful deliberation of words, what these diplomatic morons have failed to highlight is the issue at hand: How does any form of law justify the use of death to ensure that every citizen toe the line and proscrate before a deity?

Does Rahman’s conversion to Christianity cause grievous harm to anybody, save the egos of fanatical religious fundamentalists? Should he even be forced to answer in the court of law for the supposed “transgression”?

And the ultimate question is: In the wake of a US “liberation” campaign in Afghanistan, a new leadership under a more “moderate” president, “Kamid Karzai, how is it that such barbaric laws are allowed to surface again?

US CONSTITUTION: A GOD DAMNED PIECE OF PAPER?

The next paragraph from Washington Post has the answer:

“The country’s 2004 constitution, which was heavily debated and rewritten by Afghan officials after it was crafted with help from U.N. advisers, is an ambiguous document that endorses international human rights conventions but also says that no law shall contravene the principles of Islam.”

Now we all know how much contempt Bush has for his own constitution back home (He once commented that the US Constitution was a “God damned piece of paper”) due to the profound absence of Christianity and overt secularization of that “dastardly” Constitution.

The invasion of Afghanistan has given Bush and his cronies a clean slate in an entirely alien country. With no existing opposition to stop their bushwacking ways, introducing a brand new, theocratic Constitution, where democracy takes a backseat in the face of Islamic laws, is just a piece of cake.

Of course, the Bush Administration will always attribute the Constitution to the work of the UN. I don’t believe for a second, however, that the Constitution would have been approved without the express delight of Bush and his merry band.

After all, did those simians not order troops in Iraq, against the express disapproval of the UN? To them, the United Nations is merely a scapegoat for their dastardly deeds.

The design and implementation of the Afghan Constitution is merely an extension of Bush’s far right leanings, and is perhaps the strongest indication yet, that the new Afghanistan, fashioned under President Kazai, will morph into a Taliban-style government, rendering any form of “liberation” a farce.

SHARIA LAW: CONVERSION = TREASON?

Abdul Aziz, a professor of Islamic law, commented:”What he has done may damage Islamic society, so he should change his mind. Then, even a judge cannot change it. It is like doing a coup against the government.

With such a literal application of fundamentalist laws, I would bet that pretty soon, all rights pertaining to women and their freedom will soon be curtailed. Wear your burkhas, ladies, the thought police is coming to get you.

BUSH AND HIS CRONIES: RELIGION FIRST; YOUR RIGHTS: NON-EXISTENT

It seems that Bush’s claims at “promoting democracy” is about as good as it gets: Promoting theocracy first; democracy…………hell, he doesn’t give a damn.

From the tortures of Abu Ghraib to the long forgotten prisoners of Guantanamo, the Bush Administration has proven numerous times that they have complete disregard for human rights. These barbaric fools are more enamored with the rights of foetuses than actual, full fledged human beings.

Feel free to weep, Afghans. Bush’s promises of more democracy and freedom has just been (or already has?) flushed down the toilet.

The Hadith doesn’t mince words when it comes to what must befall Muslim apostates: “Whoever changes his religion, kill him.”

Why, I am not surprize. Prying to the Judeo Christian god is prohibited in Islamic countries is it not? Of course converting them would mean something as heavy as treason in their view.
